We can so easily get ahead of ourselves in business. As innovators and thinkers, we can move from A-Z, while forgetting everything else in between. This can be very dangerous because we forget to include vital parts of the equation. I know for myself, I love to design and develop strategy and don’t always like to take the time to make sure I am putting together the best concepts I can. This is because thinking is complicated, time consuming and usually more work. Sometimes we may even do a mediocre project, even though we had some better ideas we didn’t want to act on because of the time and effort it was going to take. Over time I have learned to take the time to think strategically, and it makes a huge difference.
[nzs_heading heading=”4″] Thought produces the best concepts [/nzs_heading]If you want to be ahead of your competition you have to be proactive in your thought process. Genius ideas don’t normally come to you while in a bar one night. They normally arise from time and research. It is so tempting to use the first thing that comes to mind, but it will rarely produce the best quality. A professor of mine used to tell us a project was great and then would say do another. He understood that while great work is the goal, amazing and innovative work takes a few tries.

The more you read and see, the better and more informed your creative pieces will be. There is always someone who can teach you something. When people think they know everything, they have limited themselves from their potential greatness, that they will probably not see.
